ABBYY FineReader – this is a very handy utility for OCR. The program has a simple and intuitive interface and does not require special skills to get started. With this utility, you can recognize text from scanned documents, PDF-files and documents captured with a digital camera. After the document is detected, it can be saved in text format, e-mailed or posted on the Internet.
ABBYY FineReader saves you from the tedious and long typing manually. The utility works with most common models of scanners. The program offers tools to work with scanners with automatic document feeder that can handle large amounts of text.
ABBYY FineReader is distributed in four different versions:
- Home Edition – designed for home use, it is composed of the basic tools for recognition.
- Professional Edition-designed for individual use in homes and offices, has advanced text recognition.
- Corporate Edition – used in small and medium business.
- Site License Edition – used for large organizations and government agencies.
