TCP Profiles Manager is perfect for laptop users. Simply select once the network settings that you want to access and you never have to worry about DNS, IP, subnet mask, or the like.
In addition, the program is fairly simple to use, and the interface is very intuitive. The main window is beautiful and well diagrammed, and the editing window profiles has all the necessary options in one place. Definitely a program worth having on your netbook or laptop. Already on desktops, the conversation is another.
Taking into account that usually a desktop computer does not usually connect to different networks, it is better to leave the configuration directly on the machine. Unless you have a special use for the software, but this is at your own!
At home I use the IP provided by DHCP network. Service in the IP is fixed and defined by the router. At a friend’s house IP is configured directly on the computer, because the DHCP is disabled. Situations like these are common for users of laptops and netbooks, which need to connect to several wireless networks at various sites.
Manually enter the network settings can be a tiring job, and if you forget the setup, redeem it might be a problem. But these are issues of the past with TCP Profiles Manager. With it you keep all the network settings, wired or wireless, and can switch between connections usually with just a few clicks.
TCP Profiles Manager has no connection limits that you can store. Just add a new network configuration, choose the IP, Subnet Mask and Default Gateway as well as the network device you want to use. Then, select whether to use a DNS address automatically (provided by your Internet Service Provider), or a custom DNS.
Of course you can customize the icons associated with each connection. There are 17 icons to choose from. If you have more than 17 connections configured you can use the icons not only as customization, but also as a form of organization.
All accessible in systray
TCP Profiles Manager is open in System Tray (systray) even when you close the program. To shut down the software definitely click with the right mouse button over the application icon in the system tray and choose “Exit”.
To facilitate access to network profiles, using this shortcut you have access to the presets you’ve created in the program via the menu “Profiles”. Leaving the mouse on it you can view all your presets, and setting that is in use at the time will get you a brand marking is selected.
Remember that the program will not open simply by double-clicking on the systray icon. To start it you must click with the right mouse button and select “Open TCP Profils Manager”.
