The Plex Media Server is a cross-platform application available for Windows, Mac, Linux, Android , Windows Phone and iOS that provides an environment to organize your media (photos, music and videos) and easily navigable form. You can also get Internet content straight through it.
With the application, users can watch videos online with direct support for more than 200 channels (CNET, YouTube, Vimeo, Revision3 and many others). If you are using Mac, you can stream content to Aperture, iPhoto, and iTunes .
Interface
With a beautiful, elegant and modern interface, Plex Media Server provides separate your content into categories that are customized by the user. Once installed, it cycles on your machine and organizes media. In addition, the access it, you can enroll in the myPlex service, which enables the software to connect to servers and share with your friends all your content that will be available via internet connection.
Limitations
The Plex Media Server, however, has some limitations. Types of content protected by DRM (copyright) are not supported, moreover, the ISO images and VIDEO_TS folders can not be read. The application allows only subtitles in SRT, SMI, SSA format. Finally, music in FLAC are not available.
