The Wi-Fi Designer is a professional program developed by Xirrus, famous company engaged in the business of enterprise solutions for wireless networks since the year 2004 The program is completely free and geared for those who use the company’s own hardware.
Being distributed in two different versions – a client for desktop and another that can be used online -, the utility allows you to plan the architecture of your wireless network and get a preview in time heat map of Wi-Fi zones .
To work with Wi-Fi Designer on your desktop, you need beforehand a map of the location whose network is being designed (an image in JPG, PNG or BMP). Then you are free to do all the planning the structure of your home, apartment or office, creating a scheme capable of providing high quality internet throughout the working environment. The maps made in Wi-Fi Cloud Designer are stored on an online server, and you can access them from any computer.
Creating a perfect infrastructure
The Wi-Fi Designer is meant to be used primarily in conjunction with the hardware developed by Xirrus own networks, such as Wi-Fi Array – a small device that allows about a thousand concurrent connections on a single wireless network.
Using this software, you can get a sense of how many modules are needed for the designed environment, reducing costs and facilitating manual labor to the device configuration. As you are adding and moving Arrays, you can view a heat map on the indication of received signal strength.
