Mighty File Explorer is a simple application that simulates the Windows Explorer in Windows 8, with a more tailored interface for touch screens, allowing you to access your documents and folders without having to open the Desktop.
With the Mighty File Explorer can open folders, search directories and have access to any document rapidly. You can also create and delete items as you wish, add your favorite places on the left sidebar for quick access, access drives and even share documents and folders with special options of Windows 8.
Open folders and subfolders using a visual list and columns and find everything you need. You can delete documents and directories, rename what you want and see detailed information (as well as a preview of images and videos) of all items. We must individually authorize the opening of each directory the first time it is opened, and then the application can memorize this permission.
Although applications to manage files in Windows 8 are extremely useful – since there is no native tool for this – the Mighty File Explorer is hardly a viable and attractive alternative, since it fails in the most basic of functions that an app this type should have: it does not allow you to open files in folders.
That is, you can browse any directory from your PC, rename folders and documents, and even delete items, but can not open them in any way. There is no command or double-click that causes the documents listed are open and it becomes quite meaningless this explorer there.
Moreover, there is no other view modes, only in list, which makes it almost impossible to navigate through the folders looking for what you want, since you can not see thumbnails of any items. Using the option of getting information you can see a preview of the photos and videos, but it is unnecessary and impractical work.
The Mighty File Explorer could be a good app for those who need a lightweight manager folders (it takes up less than 1MB of storage) and extremely simple for tablets with Windows 8, but need to fix a bug that does not allow open documents, since that causes it to be completely useless.
